Participation in conference in Komotini, Greece

Three representatives of the team took part in the international conference "History, Monuments, and Art in Southeastern Europe: From Early Modernity to the Present", held in Komotini, Greece, between 16 and 18 May 2025. Over 30 scholars from several different countries participated in the forum.

Prof. Yura Konstantinova presented results of her research on the great philanthropist Ivan Denkoglu in her paper “Bread Upon the Waters”: the building of the first Bulgarian school in Sofia. Dr. Angel Zlatkov presented a paper titled The Macedonian House of Culture in Sofia through the 20th century. Dr. Ivaylo Nachev took part in the forum with a paper titled The Wandering Monument of the Unknown Soldier in Sofia – Contested Memories, Artistic Interpretations, Changing Ideologies.

The project Growing but not getting old: semantic and 3D technologies for the history of streets and buildings in Sofia is funded by the Bulgarian Scientific Research Fund in 2024 with contract number КП-06-Н90/2 from 10.12.2024.
